Bio

My name is Olivia and I have been teaching Pilates since 2014. I found Pilates while I was training as a young dancer. While it was never an ambition of mine to teach, I soon realized that the movement knowledge that Pilates provides and the understanding of how movement relates to anatomy was invaluable. As a dancer, a teacher, and a choreographer, Pilates has influenced the way that I relate with myself and with my students and colleagues. As someone who has dealt with numerous injuries and much pain, Pilates has given me the ability to walk and dance without constantly being held back by my physical limitations. By studying Pilates, I have developed a respect for the human body in all of its beautiful complexity.

As a practitioner, my desire is to help people understand and appreciate the way in which their bodies function. I believe that in understanding why the body is presenting a certain problem, we can gain insight into how the body came by that particular compensation and begin the process of redirecting the body with greater purpose. Whether your goal is to condition as a high level athlete, accomplish work-related tasks with ease, or to pick up grandchildren without struggling, I am excited to partner with you in achieving your goals. By assisting the body in achieving fluid alignment and efficient patterns, we can live life happier and healthier for the long-run.
